Description

There are moments when the world feels too vast to hold, so we frame it.
This 11×14 piece opens wide to a horizon set ablaze. Thick strokes of crimson, tangerine, and molten gold sweep across the sky in bold, sculpted movement, as if the sun itself were exhaling its final breath into evening. The window becomes more than architecture, it becomes a threshold. A passage between the inner world and the infinite.
The impasto is intentional and unapologetic. Heavy palette knife work builds the sky in layered ribbons of fire and violet, while the water below receives the light in fractured reflections, shimmering, imperfect, alive. Tropical foliage anchors the foreground, grounding the heat of the sky with deep greens and cool blues. The open shutters, painted in contrasting turquoise and cobalt, frame the scene like guardians, inviting you outward while reminding you that perspective shapes everything you see.
At the center, the sun rests low and luminous, a symbol of both culmination and promise. Not an ending. A transition.
This painting is about standing at the edge of change and choosing to look forward anyway. It speaks to that sacred pause when you open the window, physically or spiritually, and allow something larger than yourself to fill the room.
It belongs to the quiet courage of beginnings.
